You’ll learn
- To multiply a term into a bracket: multiply it by EVERY term inside
- In algebra we show a multiply with brackets rather than a × sign, because × looks too like the letter x: (x)(x) = x², and 3(x + 2) means 3 times everything in the bracket
- (x)(x) = x² — add the powers
