JCHL Algebra 10: Factorising 4
You’ll learn
- Recognise a quadratic you can factorise: an x² term, an x term and a number
- Factorise it by splitting the middle term — multiply the first term by the last, then find the two terms that multiply to that and add to the middle one
- Finish the factorising by grouping, and check your answer by multiplying the brackets back out
