You’ll learn

  • Find the slope of a curve at a point by evaluating the first derivative there
  • Build the tangent's equation with the page-18 formula y − y₁ = m(x − x₁)
  • Work backwards from a given slope: solve dy/dx = m for x, then find the point
  • Sub x into the ORIGINAL curve (not the derivative) to get the y-coordinate
